Professional Services

In early 2022, Amy Schmidt started Mulberry Maps LLC with a mission to offer top-tier environmental consulting and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services across the United States, with a focus in the Carolinas. The State of North Carolina certified Mulberry Maps LLC as a North Carolina historically underutilized business in 2023.

Mulberry Maps LLC serves a diverse array of clients, including environmental and engineering consulting firms, nonprofits, small businesses, outdoor recreational groups, and local municipalities. One of my favorite projects completed by Mulberry Maps LLC included trailhead map signs for the Carolina Thread Trail.

Amy has over a decade of expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), branding optimization, natural resources, permitting, conservation, habitat restoration, stream and wetland delineation, and environmental science. With a background rooted in environmental consulting and nonprofit land conservation, Amy brings a wealth of experience to the table. Her portfolio showcases a dedication to projects encompassing wetland and stream delineation, erosion and sediment control permitting, habitat restoration, park and nature preserve planning and permitting, linear project routing and design, and conservation efforts for threatened and endangered species.

Amy's leadership and expertise have been recognized on numerous occasions, including being promoted to the esteemed position of the first Associate Project Manager within her previous role as a full time environmental consultant. Notably, she was part of a team that earned the prestigious 2022 American Council of Engineering Companies (North Carolina) Grand Conceptor Engineering Excellence Award.

During her college years, Amy served as a Research Assistant on a significant global climate change agricultural initiative in Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. In this capacity, she conducted comprehensive research and carried out fieldwork for three weeks in Yapese taro fields while employed by the Yap government. Additionally, Amy's academic achievements are equally impressive, having been awarded a Presidential Scholarship to Queens University of Charlotte and honored as the Outstanding Student in Environmental Science.
